Well it's a fairly late card (3797) I suspect they are just test pads.

Nice that is pretty late, but it really sucks that you killed a good and working voodoo. What are you gonna do with it now?

But what kind of feature  ???

It's just test points to ensure the card is working before being boxed.

Now it's just a not so good card, there are better cards like ColorMAX of A-Trend Helios 3D.
Diamond lacks the heatsinks...

How do the heatsinks make them better cards? Most of the cards were limited by the quality of the ram, not by heatsinks. I just had a Canopus Pure3d running at 66 mhz with no heatsinks, the ram on those cards is rated for 60 mhz. Most cards only came with 45 or 50 mhz ram.

Heatsinks on the Voodoo Graphics cards were just marketing gimmicks.

Yup, but the ram on the colormax is 75mhz.

And I have a Miro with 83 mhz, which is neither here nor there since both cards were clocked at 50 mhz out of the box.

But that means it stil is a nice card, with fast enough ram, I think an overclock to 65mhz is possible.

@Thandor - you might want to buy some "Chip quick" compound to re-solder the FBI chip. Wink

"Chip quick" is professional 'low-temp' solder used to mount SMT components (you can even use a hairdryer to heat it up!) Shocked

Also - the BEST way to remove ANY heatsink is to FREEZE a card in the freezer (in an airtight bag) then 'pop' the heatsink off with a fine tipped screwdriver... 8)

Good luck repairing the card! Wink

Paulsomiadas is right, low temp solder is really useful here.
