Hmm this is a strange one too, AGP x4 for MAC...

Well I do have the photo for quite a while, It popped up at 3dfxzone.it once, but I don't know what it really was meant for, okay it's a Voodoo5 5500 AGP x4 with DVI, but was this actually planed a VoodooMAC 5500 AGP x4?

Was this a Voodoo5 5500 with a Dual Head function, or wasn't that possible yet?

I suppose that this is the rarest Voodoo5 around.

If anyone else has some more pictures of info on this one, I'm very interessted in this model Smiley

99% sure the card pictured is a Mac 5500 based on the bios revision and VCI decal on board.

I'm sure 3dfx was looking at the mac market hard since it had high profit margins and no real graphics competitor there.

The PC and Mac cards used the same PCB's.

3dfx released a Mac flasher utility and Mac bios for the cards.

hmm Thanx Gary Smiley Never knew that MAC's had AGP x4, I though they only had PCI and a special type of AGP that was different from the normal AGP, anyway this just another step closer to what 3dfx made.

As you can see it's a Rev.A2 3300 Smiley So' it isn't that late hehe

I wonder how many of the MAC 5500 AGP x4 cards exsist? Anyone a clue ?

1) Have to remember the PCB was the same as made for the PC.

2) Who knows! AGP was in one use though I think on the G4 Mac? A number of people flashed the PC 4500 AGP over to a Mac bios for use on that platform.

Wow that's cool, but a Voodoo5 5500 or 6000 AGP x2 wouldn't work in a MAC because of thier connetors, right Smiley

MAC has only AGP x4 support I thought hehe. It would be really funny to see a Voodoo5 6000 in a MAC  hay everyone  Tongue
