wow I see also the Grumman X-29 Straycat and the General Dynamic F-16 XL too on those XB-70 pics :P

Great stuff Gary, I suppose Ohio wasn't a far drive for you :) How was the weather, nice and sunny? hehe I hope it was, rainy hollidays can be a bumber sometimes.

That A12 is also a strange one, were the bomb bays opened or closed?

What I do know that the bomb bays are in the neck area of the plane about three of them, dunno why three, i suppose there was no room for a fourth one.

Anyway my first model plane was from Monogram and indeed it was a Lockheed SR-71 A Blackbird at scale 1/72 :)

There was planes on top of planes there, if you hit the air force ohio website they have most of them listed. I have a great deal stored on the hard drive, perhaps I'll zip the raw files up and make them available if you like.

Actually 808 miles one way with lots of high speed turbocharged driving ;-)

Was ok, went to attend a racing event at a dragstrip in Ohio and then headed to see the planes the next day.

The YF-12A was armed with 3 Hughes missles, bays were closed.

It looks like it's gate guarding a cinema complex or something? :>

Cool pics, thanks for those.  I particularly like the way it's nigh on impossible to get a picture of anything else in that hangar without the Valkyrie being there somewhere *grin*

A-12 Is that the spy plane that sends out the false radar signals to make it look like there's more planes in the sky?
