@Hank - if you are out there, do you know the value of R19 on the V6K?

Cant someone measure it? Find a guy who possesses V5 6k and ask him to do it. That shouldn't be such a big deal.

In order to measure the value CORRECTLY, it will have to be desoldered THEN tested...
"in circuit" values are not correct...
So it may actually be a big deal...

I wasnt really aware of that. As far as I've learned, as long as the circuit is not running, the value should be the same.

If you look in the tread you posted it says that IF you disconnect ONE END of the component then it's the same as having it out of circuit.
But with SMT components this isn't possible (too small) so they have to be desoldered.
BTW - I've been soldering for over 20yrs, so I know what I'm talking about...

I would send over the board to paulpsomiadis ? With over 20 years of soldering experience it would be in good hands in order to try and revive it ...
There must be way to measure where the problem is ...

I would not want to mess around with a Voodoo 6000, as:
1) It is too precious
2) I am not qualified as a 3Dfx engineer
3) I have never repaired a Voodoo 6000 before (only a 5500).
@Hank - please respond if you're listening!!!

Hi,
I need a little more history behind the card.
I'll have to dig up the layout files and take a look at R19 function.
Did the card ever work?
If not I can guide you through some troubleshooting.
Hank
[quote author="hutzeputz"
I own the Card since 2004 and it runs properly until 6 month ago. The only problem was the resolution doesen't come over 1024x 768, because the system crashes if I tried some higer resolution.
Except the failure with the 1024x768 resolution IN GAMES, the card works properly with 8XFSAA many hours in row. It would be very nice, you could help me. There is a company i know, they could do the hardware work from the guidance you give.
The time, the problems occur first is approximately 6 month ago. With the "no VGA" beep, butwith a reset or power cycle at the PC and a pausing of 5 minutes, the card boots up sometimes. Then the card needs hours for startup, and now it doesen't run any more.
I wait since then to reply.
I still hank is log hope....
