My poetry?
26.11.07 at 07:01:11

I was womderiing if this would be the right place to post my poetry if it is welcome and /or this would be the tiright forum section to post it in if it is ok to do so.  I already post the bulk of it on another site but I want all the feedback I can get...

Ok well I guess I will post a poem and then you can tell me what you think...

I did this one about a year and a half ago.  This was my first major foray into poetry after some early attempts years earlier.

Fears and Dreams

Sleep calls like a siren;
I am falling,
Flailing my uselessness with an idiotic rage.
I stand up only to be knocked down,
My legs cut out from under me,
By fears and dreams.
Night and Day come in quick succession,
Each with demands that can’t be met.
Silent futility guides us to the unbeaten path,
The road to the depths of slumber.
The unknown frontier of the mind,
Never broken in spirit, only in body.
Release the burden,
Let go of the day,
Embrace the night,
Sleep;
Drift away,
Until tomorrow…
Until tomorrow…

Here is another of my poetical works from around the same time as thelast one.  Enjoy!!

The Twilight of Me

Your promises are gone now,
And all that is left are lies.
Everything you gave has turned,
To dust and blown away.
The refreshing breeze, erasing my pain,
Taking my sorrows, with zephyrous grace.
My self-imposed torment is no longer.
I will now live to be stronger,
Stronger than the evils of the world,
The world inside my head, yet to unfold, yet to be unfurled;
Like a flag, proud and true,
Proud and true, even in the twilight,
The twilight of me.
