Nope, THe Quicksilver system has a Voodoo Rush based MGV-PCI and a S-12 AGP.

That Voodoo5 6000 AGP 128MB Rev.A1 1500 with Legacy Voodoo Volts is still my favourite one Smiley those cards are so hard to get at hehe and since you have an operational one that makes it very exclusive.

Since it turns out I have more items then days left before the 15'th I thought I'd post a double today  Grin

The first item is a V3 PCI with SGRAM dated early 99. I do have another PCI board like it with an external RAMDAC chip. The heatsink isn't original, just something I added so I could run the board (which does function)

The second item is a shirt from a friend of mine, brand new.

Them 3dfx guys sure did like their golf.

By The Masters Of The Force!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now this is really the breaking Point Gary, I always had the idea that there were things that we haven't seen yet  , when I saw The clamp shell Rev.A0 4600 of the Rampage I first thought that it was totally something new, but now I see that they used that sollution for the Voodoo4 4500 Oven boards also, rather amazes me, though it is a cheaper way of testing the GPU's on those Ovenboards right?

Hmm I'n not so sure why 3dfx used the Clamp-Shell Technology, was it to save time for fitting the cards with heatsinks and fans or was it meant for ultimate cooling there by stressing out the cards to thier max speeds?

Anyways Ithere must be many qustions about this, I wonder what you think about that idea, there by I'd like to hear you out , I suppose we all would Smiley

one thing the year 2005 is just gett'n better by tha everyone, that's for sure Wink

4500 PCI if for chip test only. It was never intended for production. The cost of the socket is about $1000.

You can test chips before solderring them down, it saves a lot of debug time.

The socket is from Nepenthe, it uses gold plated spring loaded pogo pins to make contact between the PCB and the chip. The coper tape is there to increase the force on the chip, when it is installed in the socket. The pins wear down after several hundred of insertions.
