I do have a DVD quality copy MPEG2 version of the 3 TV commercials. I lost my copy here in the hard drive crash but I have it backed up at work. It's about 250 megs I think. If someone has an FTP site I could post it to, I'd be happy to upload it for you in the next couple of days. It's the actual MPEG video that was used by 3dfx at trade shows. I posted it at x-3dfx.com not long ago so some of you may already have it.

Is anyone hosting these DVD quality ads of Tony's?
FalconFly, do you have the necessary space to host these 3 videos in MPEG2 format?

Hm, it would get a little bit tight, but I should be able to host all 3 of them...

That would be fantastic!  Cheesy

Even if it's only temporarily hosted, just so I can get a hold of them. It would give others the chance to also.
We can then burn them onto CD and share them out locally to nearby 3dfx users!  Grin

In fact I think, my EMail account might take those even.

During one of the most massive Virus onslaughts, I had it (not full) with almost 5000 EMails having 70-150kB each Grin

Another Option would be to open a BitTorrent stream, and post the Link into the Forum.

That works extremely well, and has been proven very useful for large 3dfx Files in the past Smiley

Actually, it's all in one 225 meg video. All 3 commercials with some gaming footage in between them. DVD quality with awesome sound.

I'm ready. I just need a place to put it.

Sweet! Cheesy

I think it would be better to put that file on server for public downloading, so everyone can download that file anytime.

I know what is bittorent, but streams last after some time and if someone would like to download that file later - he couldn't get ir, because stream would be dead (unless you keep it alive). anyways, first we need that file and then we share it.. Wink

Well, I just need to get it, and this is the best way.

Redistributing it after reception is no Problem Smiley

Well yeah okay, you got point 'bout that. But What i meant is this must be the first stand alone Multi-chip 2D 3D AGP card around. I'm just try'n to find out what  technology it uses, though 3dfx' SLi comes close.

SLI on 3dfx = rendering every other line on the screen

SLI on ATI = rendering upper half and lower half of screen.

I searched a bit and found this:
Quote:
ATI's Maxx technology is slightly different from 3dfx's though; they use Alternate Frame Rendering (AFR).  Here's how they explain it on the Rage Fury Maxx FAQ:

ATI has developed a multiple chip parallel processing technique that works within MAXX implementation called Alternate Frame Rendering or AFR. In the AFR process, one chip renders even frames while the other chip renders odd frames. Each chip processes triangle setup for its own frame without waiting for the other chip making AFR the more efficient multiple chip processing technique.

Wondering how it compares to SLI?

    3Dfx's SLI's technique:
One chip draws out even lines of an image and the other chip draws out the odd lines of the image. This technique is inefficient because both chips process triangle set up on one frame.

Unlike SLI, AFR processes separate frames.
