Hey, sorry my post will be a bit delayed to this thread as I've been away. But Lecram25, is right.

There is no old or new boxes. It was a case or US boxes and European boxes. If you noticed on the "old" box as some may claim, you will never find one of these types of boxes with either French, Spanish, or German language on them. Roll Eyes

What baffles me is, why have a different design for the two? ??? Why should the US be different from the rest of the products that we get?

Anyway, a bit late to be asking that question now, but the fact remains that we would or will never see a european version of the V5 5k or V5 6k (btw, cheers NitroX infinity, for the high resolution photo of the 5k. I have never seen that box before. That is really something!

I know it may be hard but, does anyone have a high resolution shot of the 6k, as NitroX infinity posted of the 5k?

I got it from this ftp which is from a Dutch guy who collects hi-res pictures of 3dfx stuff.

@janskjaer:
Did you look somewhere around here?

Because that won't work.
I've got a membership at that site  (www.tweakers.net dutch site)

this is my foto-album there in which I keep various pics:

Really nice collection, I need to check it out more often.

I even see some of the High-Res Images I've done in it already, so it's being kept up-to-date for sure Smiley

The box issue does make me wonder about one thing though. Is there an Asian version too?

Two different places of production maybe? I doubt they were all produced in the US/Mexico and shipped out over the world. I'm pretty sure there was a "plant" of some sort in Europe somewhere.

In the US, we don't like to see many different languages on our products. Not to mention that 3dfx had to cater for the whole of Europe (alot of different languages) opposed to the US.

Also notice that the US boxes have more "face" on them. I honestly feel that this other prodution site was given the pics and was not given direct instructions on where to place them and how. Note how the number is distinguished on the US box(es).

Can I tell you that I love you?  Grin Embarrassed

I recently lost my second hdd (120GB) and I had mad 3dfx pics on it. Mainly rampage and rampage in game pics as well as a high res pic of my VoodooTV200, 6k pics, and Volari pics (the voodoo comparisons, size, etc). I honestly didn't think I'd ever find them again. But I went on that FTP and he seems to have a lot of the pics I had.

THANK YOU!

Anyone have an idea on how many different European boxes there are? My V5 5500 AGP has different languages on it than there are on euro-cards posted in this topic.

(Mine has German, Dutch and I think a Scandinavian language on it)

Fave Voodoo Box? ??? Hmm, that's a tough one!  Wink

My Top 3 would have to be:

1. Orchid Righteous 3D (It's a nostalgia thing! Grin)

2. 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP (Euro)

3. 3dfx V2 1000 PCI

These are subject to change, depend on how I'm feeling of course!  Wink
