It's kind of eerie in a way, looking at things like this (even all the hype at the minute, regarding the Daytona card). To find such rare things like these are truly extraordinary.
The thing that makes it a little eerie and spooky is that we now look back on these photos (such as the one above) where people are full of confidence at 3dfx's success, even still at the Napalm launch (when was that? ???), and we see banners mentioning the Napalm, something that eventually, was never meant to be. Do we have a lot of information archived, regarding the Napalm project? |

Anyways, iirc, Hank has that poster hanging behind his desk at q3d. |

ROFLMFAO! "Napalm" was/is the codename for the VSA100. Everyone knows that. And you call yourself a collector. ::) |

Didn't the Napalm project, spawn the concepts for Rampage? (VSA-101) ::)
I am fully aware the VSA-100 chips were "codenamed" Napalm, but AFAIK, the codename continued to be adopted for the Rampage line-up. Maybe I got that wrong! My apologies. I didn't call myself a 3dfx collector, FalconFly did! ;D :P Just because I own a few of the older generation of 3dfx cards, doesn't mean I knew EVERYTHING about the upcoming Rampage cards (I didn't, at that time, my interest with 3dfx was gone with the company). Now I'm back and it's catchup time, as of December '03! ;) It's being a good learning outcome so far! Maybe you should have your own, personal and exclusive forum status: "3dfx Pessimist"! ::) |

lol, shows how much less you know. VSA101 isn't rampage, some claim it to be daytona, but it's not even that (I will not get into this). Mind you rampage had nothing to do with Voodoos whatsoever. ::) Quote:
pfft, I'll take it. |

Read above. ::) I said Napalm spawned the concepts for Rampage. i.e provoked some of the design architecture for it, and how they could take it further and enhance it! I never said it was a voodoo or voodoo-alike, but you are wrong that designs didn't stem from the Napalm architecture. 3dfx wasn't known for ripping ideas off other people, so where the hell did they get them from? Oh, and not regarding it as VSA-101, I'm sure there are loads of 3dfx users willing to argue your point on that one ;), as they did last time when I remember you getting into that debate! The words "ship" and "sinking" come to mind! ::) Quote:
Goes without saying. ;) |

lol, please stop now, because you're making an absolute fool of yourself. Rampage was meant to come after the Voodoo2, iirc. But they didn't bring it out, and continued to work on it; mind you it it/was a totally different architecture, nothing to do with Voodoo. Quote:
Your opinion means nothing to me atm as you have/had no idea what napalm and rampage truely are. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, "VSA-101" was just a name thrown out to daytona (not rampage ::)) and was not the official name. Maybe it would have been, but it's not, and a 3dfx engineer told me this. lol, I'll wait for dborca to get on this and explain some things to you. ;) |

ROFLMFAO! :D Please keep going! It's amusing listening to your pathetic garble! You really don't listen do you? ::) Quote:
Get out of your own little world, little man, and start listening to others! ;D Quote:
Do you REALLY think I give the slightest care or worry as to what YOU think? Your opinion goes as wanted as that "3dfx programmers" bullsh*t does! ::) I told you I'm not totally up on what the RAMPAGE or DAYTONA history is, and I continue to learn about it from OTHERS! ;) It seems you just like to warrant abuse for my lack of knowledge on this part! Don't you have better things to do? ::) Quote:
OMG! Are you really this stupid? :D Seems so! ;D Maybe you did say it once, AND say it again, but I don't make it a habit of repeating myself! ;D Quote:

That's right! Wait for somebody to back your cause! Boo-hoo! :'( He needs help now guys! Awww! Don't you just feel sorry for him? :'( Hehe! ;D PATHETIC! |
