Geforce 6200 drivers
14.01.15 at 07:15:15

Just got a working used GF 6200 AGP 256mb DDR2 TV DVI but I don't have drivers and I cannot determine the card manufacturer.  Does that matter as far as drivers?

The card is the lower profile version, black PCB, both DVI and VGA ports, and has no fan but has the large black heat-dissipating fins about 3 inches long by the width of the card on the GPU.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just get the drivers from the Nvidia download site and you are good to go Smiley

Edit: 6200 AGP Low Profile and black PCB is very likely an XFX.

Do I need to do anything special to use the DVI port?  I've tried three different cards, all on the same monitor, with the same DVI cable, and no matter what, if I boot up with the DVI cable hooked up, and the vga not hooked up, I get no signal, even though the pc is obviously booting up and starting the OS. (win xp) And once in Windos, I cannot get it to switch to the DVI input.

My monitor has both a VGA and DVI port, so I can use it without DVI, but wouldn't DVI be better?  Could the cable be the issue, maybe?  If so I might have another here somewhere, just have to find it, and if not, I can get one at a local thrift store, if they still have it, last I saw it there was Friday.

On my monitor, the on-screen menu gives you the option to switch from analog to digital input, but when I do that it goes blank for a short time, but then goes back to analog afterwards.

Any ideas?

Nope.

I have a Shuttle SFF system that was used for years in my living room as a media streaming device before I picked up a WDTVLIVE. It has a 6200 with DVI and VGA and works flawless with a DVI->HDMI cable using the generic Nvidia drivers. I have used it with a DVI cable only several times.

I wonder what the hell is going on then.  Only thing I can think of is the cable.
