Title: Glide Video Capturing Software Post by janskjaer on 02.06.04 at 18:48:54
Is there such a thing nowadays?
You know the types of software I mean? HyperCam, SnagIt and My Screen Recorder. But none of them support Glide? Does anyone know a piece of software that will capture Glide on-screen so I can create .AVI and .MPEG files from my captures? |

Hm, apart from HypersnapDX, I found this one :
http://www.nonags.com/nonags/grcapt.html ("GrabClipSave" , Freeware) But if it's able to create a Stream of Images, I don't know... In HypersnapDX, you need to enable Glide-specific support first : If you choose Hypersnap-DX, OFP reg Snake1999 points out that you will need to enable the SPECIAL CAPTURE option on Hypersnap-DX's CAPTURE menu. This will display a dialogue window, where you can enable screen capture support for Direct3D and/or Glide graphics APIs. |

Hi FalconFly,
I am aware of the screen capture software and HyperSnap DX proves to be the best for Glide or DirectX capture. However, I am enquiring about full motion video capture, not photographic still images. I have owned the latest versions of HyperSnap for years, however HyperCam does not support Glide and I am trying to find a screen video capture software that will record videos in Glide (e.g Glide game demos and benchmarks). |

Good Point...
IMHO there is no dedicated 3D API full-screen capturing Software to directly write to Disk. (Hypersnap can make Images at a framerate of your choice, however) With the need to perform realtime mpeg (or comparable) comression at 25fps, even high-end CPU's would break down (considering they still have to render the 3D Application as well) I might add the Voodoo3 3000 TV out as another Optional Card for this :) |
