Would not be better a Pentium 4 based motherboard like ABIT SA7?

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=SA7&fMTYPE=Socket%20478&pPRODINFO=Specifications&fSEARCHTEXT=SA7

Yeah, SiS chipset SUX, but Pentium 4 ROX  ;D

well not entirely :')

the AMD AThlonXP 2700+ beat's a Pentium4 3.06Ghz in most cases with 3dfx based apps.

the EPoX EP-8K5A2+/3+ and 8K3A+ series are the best Voodoo5 6000 boards out there.

There are other AMD boards for the Voodoo5 6000 but not many and as for Pentium4, that's ano go, in most cases the AThlonXP setyups are much faster and more stable.

for Voodoo5 6000 setups the AthlonXP CPU's are the best all round, period, Pentium4 sux in this case ::)

The system has been built, the EP-8K5A2+ has been flashed with the latest bios for AthlonXP 2700+ and up support :)

And Windows 2000 Professional is running perfectly on the Voodoo 5 5500 AGP, when the installation has been completed the 6000 AGP will take place and get ready to run some games.

I have chosen to use Windows 2000 Professionalonly since that the most newest drivers are NT based only and Win2K Pro is also much more reliable that 98SE qua stabillity.

The Driver I will be using mainly will be AmigaMerlin 3.1 R11. but the drivers from SFFT shall get thier place as well :)

So here it is finally installed with a 5500 AGP though, I rather check if that works out first before installing a 6K and no problems at all.

Don't worry everyone the EPoX EP-8K5A2+ is a 200% safe Voodoo 5 6000 AGP board :)

Well here it is with the Voodoo 5 6000 AGP 128MB Rev.A 3700, I have been running it all day with no hessitations what ever so that's the heads up my 3dfx friends 8)
as you can see the FSAA x2, 4 and 8 settings are sellectable now :)

Now for some game testing I ran Unreal Tournament @ 1600 x 1200 x16 in Glide with no FSAA, FSAA x2 and even it was playable @ a staggering setting of FSAA x4! I was like Crikey!!! Far Out! okay the avrarage speed was around the 33 Frames per Second, but still impressive for such an old piece of equipment which never reached the retail market, I was very impressed by it's insane amount of 3D rendering power, espeacially for it's time.

More screen shots of that later tonight, now that's the maximal settings and capabillities of a 6000 ;)

Hey Obi, what happened to the fear that the card is going to fail and that it's going to burn down?  :P I salute you, now that you activated the beast! I would also like to try it out sometime...  ::) Take a good care of it and enjoy the ride  8)

@ elfuego :)

well that was because it was too dangerous to run it on the ASUS A7V333-R ;) if you put a 6K on that board the chance you will fry it is 100%, now that I have an EPoX EP-8K5A2+ It's a 200% safe board for the Voodoo 5 6000 AGP cards :)
