AAVID fan and 3DFX fans, difference?

i got a V5500AGP yesterday, and there's "3DFX" fans on it, while my other card have "AAVID" fans on it. Is there a difference between them?

You mean AAVID and Thermshield (3dfx sticker).
From what I heard I would say the Thermshield are better quality.

They look nicer with the 3dfx logo Smiley

Yes.

BTW they are pretty much the same. I bet Termshield are simply AAVID re-branded.

thanks for the info.

And also, if i have to switch the fans (because of noise mostly), which one(s) should i use? (40mm?) or which RPMs should i need for the fans? (i'm asking because maybe some fans doesn't give enough airflow).
