Hi all

Since that there are quite a few people that have a Voodoo 5 5000, AGP, PCI or both types of models.

The idea is to test this card under Windows 2000 Professional + SP4 with the latest 3dfx WHQL drivers :) well that didn't really work so now I'm back to 98SE NL + UnOfficial Service Pack 2.03NL and go on from there.

So here's the card of today's test run :)

3dfx Voodoo4/5 V1.04.00 - The Latest WHQL Drivers.

The Program that I'm gonna test is Unreal Tournament 2003, just see how that would inflict on the Voodoo 5 5000 AGP since it only has 2x 16MB SGRAM, the poor thing haha ;D

All I need to know is, wasn't there a way to run UT2003 with MesaFX 6.2.0.2 OpenGL32.dll file as wel ???

The only wierd thing is that my 120GB Seagate Barracuda V is been detected as a smller 50GB HDD , It should improve after the Unofficial service pack has been installed.

After the UnOfficial Service pack I will install UT 2003 and get the real things going on.

So here's Unreal: Return To Na Pali @ 800 x 600 x16 in Glide + FSAA x4 max details the 5000 AGP somehow doesn't accept FSAA x4 @ 1024 x 768 x16 in Glide, though it does work with OpenGL as Direct3D @ 1024 x 768 x16 as x32 with FSAA x4.

Strange thing.


I used AmigaMerlin 2.9 for the first time with this 5000 AGP 32Meg card.

The Voodoo 5 5000 AGP 32MB Rev.A0 3700 works great with this driver + Control Panel combination!

Now FSAA x4 works splendily in OpenGL, Direct3D as Glide ;D

I used Unreal: Return To Na Pali to test the Glide API @ 1024 x 768 x1 with FSAA x4 :) and man the game really looks nice and runs fluid also 8)

the pics have been compressed to .png formats just to spare the image quallity, they are a bit dark but the FSAA x4 is very well visable, nice stait lines no jaggies ;)

these tests were done without Geometry Assist that's T&L Emulation in other words.

Some maps were high detailed which made the 5K AGP create slowdowns with some pressure, but it was very playble in most cases which did surprise me for a 32Meg V5 :)

Wee I got pics of Jedi Academy!! to make them was kinda simple thanx to our friend google heh all you type in the console is the following:

bind G screenshot_tga then enter.

so now I could press the letter G to make a screenshot in .tga format :) for that command you don't have to use the G you could also make usage of the F12 for instance, that's all up to you ofcourse :)

so here are the Jedi Knight Pics, worl + charachter details were set to normal the rest all to max details, game play was very fluid.:

All I need to know now, is how to get a frames per second meter running, since FRAPS won't opperate under 98SE..

heh had to split it in 3 posts oh well here are all the Jedi Academy pics :)

Well that was my 5 day test run on the 5000 AGP, it really did get the job done right :) and now I have Windows 2000 Professional +SP4 installed again since the 5000 AGP is a very rare 3dfx card, just don't feel like using for too long ;)
