Hey guys,

Was just wondering what a reasonable price is for a 5500 mac edition with box in good condition, not perfect.
Original manual and driver disc included.

I know I missed one for 50e just a month ago. It had no box, just the card itself. Not much of a help, but will give you a rough idea...

i don't know, but i sure hate the fact that the MAC version of the Voodoo5 is the ONLY card to have a DVI connector!

Is there a way to reflash the card's firmware for PC?

Yes, look through the forums or google "flash 5500mac to pc". And you'll find the way.

Took me 5 minutes to flash the card

You are wrong, there are V4 4500 cards with DVI output:

And there are some V3 cards with DFP (that can be converted to DVI), but those are prototypes, they are very hard to find and extremly expensive.

Anyway, considering that all the 3dfx cards (except V4 and V5) were "engineered" before 1999 and DVI appeared in 1999 it's normal that V4 and V5 are the only cards with DVI.

3dfx couldn't add something that didn't exist then (DVI) to their cards, it's like asking for a Geforce3 or Geforce4 card on PCI Express...

though the 4500 are hard to find. So far i think there's none of them on Ebay

Strange. I have at least two of them, but the truth is that I bought them a long time ago. If you want one keep an eye on ebay and forums (here and on voodooalert.de you can find good deals).
