Hi guys. I just bought a voodoo 3 3000 AGP 16mb. I don't know much a bout this card.
Basically I'd like to know if it will run Need for Speed 2 SE in 3DFX mode. I saw on this italian 3dfx site that someone there said they ran nfs2 se w/voodoo 3, but didn't say if it was 3dfx or software.
Also I don't know what the best drivers to use with this (for old pc games)? Any recomendations? I'll be using it for old games like Syndicate War, NFS 2 SE/NFS3/NFS: HS/NFS: Porsche Unleased/maybe Anachronox/FF7.
I'm building an old system because of VESA support (?voodoo 3 supports it I hope?), windows 9x DOS(xp or 2K can't do dos), the 3DFX mode high quality in NFS 2 SE I hope for, and old aplications.
I can install NFS 2 SE on XP and play it with Windows Compatability Tool kit, but you can't use the wrappers in xp, only software mode is playable.
The system I bought + parts specs are this:
450Mhz CPU
Elitegroup Computer Systems motherboard P6BX-A+ based on Intel 440BX
Tower Case
64mb Sdram -will add 128mb pc100 when I receive/know if it's ECC or pc66, etc.
Voodoo 3 3000 16mb APG
(I might stick in my voodoo 1 Diamond Monster 3d 4mb pci
ISA Eithernet card
ISA Soundcard
60gig hard drive Western Digital WD600BB (I know I have to dl the 40gig+ patch from <
www.ecs.com.tw>;
Windows 95 upgraded to Windows 98
If anyone can help me get started with tips/ answers about NFS2 SE in 3DFX on Voodoo 3 3k AGP, what drivers to use, I'd be very greatful.
The other voodoo forum sites doesn't seem to get much action like nobody posted anything in the last 6 months. I remember FalconFly from the Voodoo files board (he was very helpful with my voodoo 1 diamond monster info), and I recame across his site, which here it seems to be alive.
I hope someone will please help this voodoo noob.BTW I am sorry if this is in the wrong board, didn't know exactly where to put it, as it involes a few topics/games/drivers/discussion.
