Title: Help ! "Can not register module "
Post by blingbling51 on 28.12.02 at 05:09:12
:-[Can someone please help a brother out here lol. I just built a new pc(pentium 4 2.26 gigs, 512 ram , vooodoo5 5500 AGP Card) and I am having trouble installing 3DFX TOOLS. I am running on windows xp and I currently have the latest updates for this O/S. When 3dfx tools is installing, once it tries to register the .dll's, it says "Cannot Register Module " then I am forced to abort the installation. Can one of you guys please help me out ?  ???

Hmmm...

A rare combination, most P4 Motherboards can be destroyed by running a 3.3V AGP Card in it (like the Voodoo5 is).

Anyway, the 3dfx Tools were never meant for WinXP.

In most 3rd party Driver Readme's, you'll find the procedure of steps that should install 3dfx Tools...

(The standard Installer will always fail)

It's a bit of a hassle, but once running, it apparently works well :)

Hehe, yes, those were the Steps needed ;)

(I'm getting to old to even remember those few *g* )

Anyway, be warned that all intel Chipsets, and a few SiS Chipsets do not support 3.3V AGP.

In the Past, quite a few Boards went up in smoke (physically, with burned though Voltage Regulators), trying to run old AGP 1x/2x Cards in them. So be sure about it... ::)
