Bios upgrades
01.05.05 at 02:09:02

Couple of questions here, I've changed bios's on Mobo's before, not a real big deal at all. Is changing the bios on the vid cards basically the same way? Wondering because I was looking through the boards and there's a post with a ton of different bios versions. I'm running 3 older 98 machines (to play shadow warrior and Duke Nukem with some friends- along with some older games) and I've got my V5, V3, and Diamond Banshee cards in them. All the cards have the OEM bios versions on them. Is it worth chancing screwing them up for games that play ok for the most part? Just wondering if it's worth it for one, two what the general procedure is for doing it. Thanks guys.

Off-Topic (sort of)

Is there a 3dfx patch for Duke Nukem?

Not sure what your looking for Gamma but I think there is 3DFX exe for it. I'm Running DN Atomic Addition at 800 by 600 with no problems ( had to enable SVGA inside DN's dos based setup and then change the actual res inside the game in order to get it to 800 by 600 but works just fine).

Thanks Choosen for the answer.

Sounds like what I've done. I don't think there's a 3dfx/Glide patch but you never know. I have the same version plus "Duke it out in DC" (Washington D.C.) add-on. I enjoyed the humor in this game, but moved on after I got my new 4 MB Diamond Monster card and started playing QuakeGL and Descent2 (patched for Glide).

I always had hoped that they would develope a voodoo patch for this game and I would return. I good game with Co-op Multi-Player action Grin

well the Voodoo3 patch works well on my Voodoo4 4500 PCI also, only I always mis the Cockpit Pannel vieuws in Glide mode and quite a shame the left like half of the cockpit pannels out in Descent 3.
