Quote:So why are people making a fuzz about putting 4 Aalchemy 8161 card together as a whole?
Well it would be an impressive array, I can inquire but the Quatum3D manuals clearly state each card just renders part of a scene (left/right/center for example)
That would make sense as Heavy Metal systems were sold with 3 200SBi's sync-locked together for three channel display or you could of course sync-lock 3 Mercurys together for multi channel display.
Quote:I was always convinced Quantum3D named it Aalchemy 8464 and it would't be easy to get such a system. I even read about these systems costing 40.000$
Quantum3D hardware isn't immune to time any more then any other PC hardware. What was state of the art 5 years ago is now in a landfill.
Quote:Anyway, Gary is you Aalchemy provided with all the daughterboards that Iwellius had?
All I have is the single board, the "daughterboards" are just PCB for the power wiring. No doubt to keep prying fingers away from the power connectors while running since a single 8164 draws 30 amps on the core voltage line.
There also was options for hardware monitoring, I don't have any of those pieces.
