Well...Voodoo WAS the best graphicscard...but now it's only a piece of s**t!nvidia dominates the graphics market and the good, old voodoo ends up in garbage pail!

Yo MAFIA! :P
Whatsa' point of askin' fer' drivers if yer' just gonna' diss' the Voodoo chipset anyhow! >:( I use DUAL Voodoo 2's with most of my old games and emulators and they're STILL faster than anything D3D or OpenGL can match!!! ;D Nuff said methinks! 8) Also, well spoken patience! ;) |

Hehe...
At least here at my home, 3dfx still dominates in numbers (running UT2003 like a blast :) )... ...followed by my only current ATI Card (which in turn blows anything NVidia currently has) : the Radeon 9700 pro ;D Anyway, for as long as there's a chance to have those 3dfx Cards run modern Games, that's reason enough to try everything possible. I still believe, that many problems are resident in the presently available Drivers. Only when basic Hardware limitations fail (e.g. only 16MB Video RAM), there's not much we can do... Although there is alot of workarounds theoretically possible (e.g. like the latest GxpOGL did add Beta compressed DXT1/S3TC Texture support under OpenGL even for Voodoo3 ;) ) |
