Title: Request for assistance - 3dfx V2 artwork Post by hard1k on 21.03.15 at 11:48:53
Hi!
I've been thinking about making some custom SLI cables for 3dfx V2 1000 PCI with cool 3dfx artwork. I guess the "Double the power" card that was included in the V2 1000 retail package would look just great. So my question is if there is someone who could do me a favor and send hires scanned image of that card? Thanks in advance! |

I do own a boxed V2 1000, but sadly there's no "double the power" card in it :-/
Update: Just as i put the stuff back in the box, the card has fallen out... scanning it now :D Here you go: http://www.outofrange.ch/temp/DoubleYourPower.png |

Well, I think, $10 would be fair enough. |

The cable looks very nice, indeed.
How is the picture "attached" to the cable? Is is some kind of paper glued somehow on the cable? Or something more "complex"? Can you bend the cable without problems? |

Well, although English is not my native language, I'll try to explain.
The picture is printed on a self-adhesive tape (some sort of plastic, without any paper) with two black "wings". The wings are bent over two plastic caps that come in default package with the IDC34 connectors, then stickered to the back of the tape itself. Then the two caps were installed onto the IDC34 connectors thus fully covering the cable with the tape. Resulting cable becomes limited by the length of the tape (obviously), but can be slightly bent if the connected V2 cards are installed in the slots next to each other. While the cables are handmade, they slightly differ in length - some of them allow for the cards to be installed with a third card between them, and some do not. If I ever go for the second batch, I'll try to define the length more precisely. |

Don't worry about the language, english isn't my native language either, but I understood how it's made.
I was thinking of using one of those cables in a system, that's why I asked, if the length isn't exactly the length between two or three PCI slots then I will need to bend a little the cable and the picture won't look so good. It would be nice if the cable would had exactly the same length as the distance between 2 PCI slots (ok, maybe just a bit more). I will talk with someone from my country and maybe we'll buy a few cables from you :) |

5 cables sent - one to Switzerland and 4 to Romania.
4 cables will be sent till the end of the week - 2 to Russia, 1 to Canada and 1 to Greece. So, only 1 cable left for myself - when the second batch will be ready, I'll update the thread :) |

i had to make my own SLI cable to use my Canopus Pure3D II as my 2nd card because the SLI connector isn't right next to the normal V2 cards but on the front of the card, so...a longer SLI cable.
