Title: MP540/3D Overdrive Post by gdonovan on 14.02.05 at 23:24:35 A big thanks to the board member <fish> who helped me bring this one home from Europe and a hand gesture of a different sort to your mail system for being so damn slow! I could have rowed a darn boat over faster! 42 days! But happy =) |

It's a villagetronic MP540 PCI-card for the MAC with a voodoo 1 add-on called "3D Overdrive" ;)
Here are some early images about my MP540: |

Aha! So it is a Picasso! Is it a combined card? (normal pci card for 2D + 3dfx pci module called "3D overdrive" with Voodoo Graphics chipset for 3D acceleration....is it correct?)
Thanks Surrimugge ;) |

Yes, the 2D card has header connections for the Voodoo Graphics module. Short of a boxed unit I think it's one of the rarest 3dfx cards that found for a Mac. |

8MB Voodoo Graphics 4MB 2D (rumored to be a Cirrus Logic part) There is a heatsink on the 2d chip, no way to tell what it is. |

Card works perfect, odd seeing voodoo graphics rendering in a window.
Works great on the 6400 but for some reason the G3 would not even boot up, very odd. GLQuake/Rave = 22 fps at 640 x 480 with 180 mhz 6400. |
