Looks to me almost like a GeForce3 card... I remember that in 2002 (I think) I got a tgf3 ti200 128 mb abit. What a card, I played for 2 years all games in max details at 1600x1200. Geforce3, one of the best and Nvidia GPU.

Yes, Geforce 3 from what I have been reading.

When it boots up the BIOS callout states "Obsidian 3" which is kinda cool.

I have a strong feeling that GF3 is 3dfx inside. nVidia would have been fool if not to use the best technology of 3dfx and merge it to its own

GF3 was released in 2001. You can bet it was already under development before the takeover of 3dfx.

Nvidia didn't use 3dfx technology till the GF5 series thus the FX naming and later on used their version of SLI in the GF6 series. Shame they did use the marketing advantage of the Voodoo or 3dfx names.
Q3D still use nvidia based gpu's into their product lines namely the FX5700.

nv says it was 3dfx technology on the geforce fx

but no rgfsaa
no sli
no glide
nothing

part of the 2d core was supposed to be taken directly from 3dfx (rampage?)..
