Gary does your 4800 work, when i saw it on your site i thought of DenisF and his bio's hacks to get the extra ram to work and thought how easy it could be with an original bio's

Bios changes have no effect on the ram size, it is set by strapping options on the PCB according to Hank. The board checks the resistor configuration on boot up and overrides any bios revisions.

My card works but reports 32MB, some day I have to send the board to Hank so he can add the correct resistor and activate the second bank of ram.

The 5500 might be a different issue since you are swapping ram sizes, the 4800 has another bank location that needs to be activated.

So far the two known 4800 both show 32MB on boot and in testing, I have no idea if any cards were ever activated for the full 64MB.  Perhaps they were working on a driver issue that the extra 32MB complicated so left it disabled till the problem was fixed. I'll try and ask.. but answers can be difficult to come by at times.

Nothing unique about it, just a regular 1.11 4500 bios.

Without the strapping option enabled it just reports 32MB.
