An Old Women Needs Help!!

Hello All
I need some help, I love playing the Roller Coaster Tycoon games(prolly cheesey but I love em). I just got RCT3 Gold, when I try to start the game it says "Your graphics hardware or drivers do not meet the minimum requirements to run RCT3" I have a 3dfx voodoo3 card, my question is, what driver do I need? ??? If anyone knows, I would be sooooooo greatful
thanks for listening,

Check out de minimum requirements to run te game. (
click!
)
Quote:
Video:Any ATI Radeon™ or GeForce™ 2 with 32MB or higher; or other video card with 32MB and hardware T&L (ATI Radeon™ 64 MB SDR or GeForce™ 2 Pro or other video card with 64 MB or more memory and hardware T&L recommended)*
The 3dfx Voodoo3 doesn't have hardware T&L.
Quote:
DirectX®: DirectX® version 9 (included) or higher
In case the game can accidently run without hardware T&L: Do you have DirectX 9 installed? (
Click!
)
I don't know if the latest drivers are capable to emulate hardware T&L (software T&L) but you might try to
download newer drivers
for your card. Try the latest drivers first since it's more likely they have the newest functions en abilities.
If that doesn't work it might be possible to emulate DirectX 9 functions with 3DAnalyzer. In what way it works and if it will work at all I can't tell you since I never tried it thoroughly
.

Voodoo3 drivers
Scroll down to "3rd Party Drivers" (at the end of the page) and look in the table which contains drivers for your version of Microsoft Windows.
Drivers like "AmigaMerlin V2.9 Win9x Driver -= Latest Release =-", "AmigaSport V3.0 WinXP/Win2K -= Latest Release =-" are a good start. (Choose the driver which is compatible with your version of Microsoft Windows. Drivers for Windows '95 / 98 / ME (9x) won't work with Windows 2000 or XP).
If the Amiga-Merlin/Sport drivers doesn't work try the SFFT drivers. Always try the latest driver first!

Hmm...a TnL based game on a Voodoo 3...
Probably the only drivers that will be helpful will be
: -
SFFT Alpha 42
-= Latest Release =-
Go to @Falcon's Download section for Voodoo 3 and search for them (hint - near the bottom of page...)

A V3 doesn't even have the minimium specs for memory though. A driver switch isn't going to fix that. A V5 should be able to run this I would think, but doubt a V3 is going to. A V3 should be able to run RCT 1 and 2 just fine.

Yah I agree @jandarasun8 - Voodoo 3 'might' run the game...
...but due to memory requirements it's a very shakey 'might'.

Have you played it before? I've got it installed (my 5 year loves it when I hook it up to the tv and she can ride the rides in "Ride View") but that game used to make my 9600 Pro 256 meg stutter. Granted graphics were set pretty high, but still having anything less then a 64 meg card, I can't even begin to think of what it's going to look like.
Sorry to dash your hopes Tiggergirl, just doubt it's going to work for you. I'm not saying not to try it, just don't get that frustrated if you can't get it to work, that's all.

Thank you all!!!! Yeah I've played and finished 1 & 2. I updated my drivers and nada, so I my best bet is a V5 card I guess. sigh.
Again thank you all sooooooo much.

http://www.3dfxzone.it/news/puntatore.php?uid=3623
RCT3 should not be that difficult IMHO...
i guess 3d-analyse is the way to play the game...any other ideas?
