Title: NTSC & PAL (VoodooTV 100/200 3500TV AGP) Post by janskjaer on 01.05.04 at 14:04:12
Hey folks,
I live in the UK, where we use PAL. If I managed to acquire an American VoodooTV card (e.g. NTSC) could I still get it to work on my machine, and in my country? Is it possible? If so, how can it be done? ??? |

The card will work with no problem, the TV out signal is the issue. They sell NTSC -> PAL converters so you should be able to hook up.
Another route would be to reflash the card with a NTSC bios, I *think* this will work. As far as I know the hardware is the same but if I'm incorrect please let me know. |

I would expect the difference of NTSC & PAL to be inside the tuner.
I think if I plugged it in directly, I would get no signal as gdonovan said. I think I would have to try it and then get the NTSC/PAL converter you mentioned. Thanks for that info, I'll look into it. ;) |

I have a Pace3d Banshee card that I picked up on www.ebay.co.uk (boxed with docs and disc!)
It has PAL out and when the RCA connector is hooked to my TV here in the states I get a rolling picture. I'm tempted to flash the bios to a state side version or play with the drivers to see what happens but not to concerned. I verified the card works and it went back in the box, another one for the collection! A boxed Maxi-gamer V1 just came in today, and I'm waiting for my Quantum3d X-12 to come in this week! Still need a boxed Pure 3d II, V4500 PCI and V5500 PCI. And a V6000 for a reasonable price of course ;-) |
