3dfx website wakes from its slumber.

http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/

Check the "update" link on the bottom for which pages were updated, 23+ items alone were added to the gear page and I'm sure I have more upstairs I still have to add.

I was asked to post some hi-res pictures of V5-6000 cards, I will try to do so this week when my new flatbed scanner arrives.

Any other suggestions? I'll also be hosting drivers for the Intel based V6K boards.

I have more items to add to the site, I need to do an inventory to make sure I have covered everything.

For example, I have several aalchemy systems that are not listed and know for a fact some "gear" isn't posted like some show banners I picked up.

Going to do so site updates today- Fixing some broken links due to pages not being there anymore, adding a driver and manual archive for quantum3d hardware and working on a new page or two.

Need to hit the wayback machine so I can find some pages that were linked to quantum3d which are no longer there.

Nice Cool

A question to Quantum3D AAlchemy drivers... I know there is a simGL library that converts direct3d commands, like there is a library that does this with OpenGL (beside the MiniGL). This should be part of the simGL SDK. Do you have this one?

About your wanted page; I own a 'Cool denim shirt' and a 'Mini tool kit'. Not really interested in getting rid of them, but just thought you wouldn't mind knowing where you could find them.

I don't think that I do, but could be wrong.

The AAlchemy drivers I snatched from the Quantum3D site recently before they vanished, it looks to have several versions in it I have not seen before.

Excelent work Gary !

Thanks I still have much to do, todays work was well over 8 hours at the keyboard!

I'm very upset Canopus has blocked the WebArchive from crawling their site, it also prevents WA from displaying all the great old information they used to have!!  Angry Angry Angry

I still have to flesh out the Soft Reality page with more information and pictures after more research, break the AAlchemy 8164 page into two pages (one for the machine and the other a AA5 general FAQ) document 2 another AAlchemy machines I have that isn't listed (8132 machine and a double board 8164 with post processing board) plus just go through the site in general and tidy up some loose ends.

I think I still have a bucket of 3dfx swag including some banners and posters to display.

A few pages were throwaways or one shots (if you noticed there is a small page showing an example of V1/V2/V3 overclocking) that have not been shown in years, I tidied them up and re-uploaded them.

The "Stuff I'd like to have" page was just a compiling of items that got away or saw on ebay at one time or another, just a mental list really. I thought I'd edit it (several items that were on there I obtained) and stuck it up. Heck I think I actually do have one of the black shirts pictured but will do inventory at one point and double check =)

Just great Smiley

Btw. my third PSU design is already finished and my work-progress is described from here on: http://www.voodoo3dfx.com/Foro_V6k/viewtopic.php?t=154&postdays=0&postorder=asc&...

I will see if I can make a schematic diagram of this solution.

And for the games:
Quote:
List Update:

Working:
Quake3 -> 3dfxOGL.dll (OpenGL ICD) -> working without any problem
Operation Flashpoint -> default Glide3 -> works quite well, some minor graphic glitches
Unreal Tournament -> q3dsglg3.dll (SimGL) -> runs very well in OpenGL mode, some texture issues
Serious Sam First Encounter -> 3dfxOGL.dll (OpenGL ICD) -> runs fast and does look good, problems with too high special effects settings
Doom³ E3 Alpha -> 3dfxOGL.dll (OpenGL ICD) -> does work quite well and with playable frame rates; due to the early development state it has performance drops and many bugs; no extended graphics are displayed due to hardware limitations
Turok 2 -> native Glide 3 -> works fast, but it's not possible to change screen resolution
Rune -> q3dsglg3.dll (SimGL) -> runs very good in OpenGL! It uses a later version of the UT-Engine and does have no graphical issues
Nexuiz -> 3dfxOGL.dll (OpenGL ICD) and q3dsglg3.dll (SimGL) -> works with both drivers; the SimGL driver is far not as fast as the ICD but has better graphics; when using 1280x1024 heavy performance impact when using 32Bit colors!!! 16Bit quite not look as good as 32Bit but is fast. Game is based on Quake 1 engine!

Does not run or with heavy issues:
Far Cry -> 3dfxOGL.dll (OpenGL ICD) -> starts in OpenGL mode with manualy edited config file; the options menu shows the character rotating; crashes after starting the game
Doom³ -> tested with 3dfxOGL.dll and q3dsglg3.dll -> always crashes and shows OpenGL extensions error
Descent 3 -> q3dsglg3.dll (SimGL) -> runs with OpenGL; crashes when doing to much in the options menu; heavy graphical issues... it's unplayable
Prey -> tested with 3dfxOGL.dll and q3dsglg3.dll -> same errors as with final Doom 3... the engine stops with opengl extension errors. We need better OpenGL support!!!

Games not tested but that should work:
- Jedi Outcast
- Jedi Academy
- Return to Castle Wolfenstein
- Hitman - Codename 47
- Messiah (Glide3)
- DeusEx

I just made a massive update to the site- swag/gear, voodoo 3 page, more aalchemy faq work, some touchups here and there.

I'll add the game list now, give me 5 minutes.
