Anyone ever spotted something like a 3500 with 6ns ram and 166MHz stock setting? O.o

but there are some 5ns v3 3500 out there...
why to put 6ns ram on a card which has 183mhz? that makes so sense...maybe a prototype but on a retail card it's useless... |

I just picked up a very interesting V3 from a former 3dfx/Quantum3D employee... I thought it was just a regular "Not for resale" V3-3000 AGP with a 1.0 bios decal till I tossed it in the test machine.
3dfx tools reported bios 2.12 (dated 5/6/99) with a 183 mhz clock speed! I checked and it has 5.5 ns ram and the PCB is dated 1599. |

Fact is that there is a V3 3500 with 6ns mem and 2.15.7 pal as exxe said, kayman owns one but he didn't mind but when he told me I was astonished, so I'm checking a bit.
He'll post some pics when possible (probably tomorrow) |

that makes no sense....or did 3dfx sold this cards in OEM-PCs with only 166mhz? so the .07-bios is neccessary...
or does anyone else has an idea? |

Indeed. The PCB Date is on a different place as well. (Well, my cards have them on the far right-top when viewing from the backside.) |

where is the pcb date placed?
i had about twelve v3 3500 and the pcb date was on the back so that you can see it clearly or on the back and placed under the panel... |
