Title: Difference between X-24 and 200SB
Post by fish on 16.09.04 at 08:48:02
I was checking my my two X-24 cards, when I realized that they aren't exactly the same.
One of it has some more connectors that the other hasn't.
Beside the second voodoo module are two more connectors, I guess it's for a VGA module. Right beside the pins above the bios are two more pin rows. And finally behind the VGA output are to more interfaces.
So, is one of it a 200SB? Where are the differences between both cards?

The X-24 and SB200 are identical except for the extra pins.

Same thing happened to me- Falconfly I think mentioned that they were the same PCB and I took a look at mine and low and behold there it was.

So why such a "difference" between the two models then?  e.g model no. SB200 and X-24 = worlds apart!  or so you would think!?  :-/

What are the actual differences between the two?

Hm, isn't it the SB200i that allows linking up for a Mercury System ?

AFAIK, the SB200 can take a 2D VGA Module onto these Connectors to make it an independent, stand-alone Card (never seen one of those, however).

Did this work ?

And what advantages did this allow (Resolution, performance, Antialiasing) ?

No, that's not the one. That's about one year ago.

P.s. @Torch - check your pm on VA.
