I recently saw an auction on eBay australia and the seller is selling a particular motherboard that has s3 savage onboard graphics. This would be fine however in the description he is saying that these particular boards have 3dfx onboard. I wrote to him explaining that these boards have an s3 chipset and not the 3dfx. He replied with the following:

This is the correct Video Accelerator, and is capable of 3D Graphics rendering hence 3dfx. 3dfx is a generic term used for any card capable of 3d graphics processing.

Now i don't know about you guys but this struck me as rather odd. Before i go into detailing the history of 3dfx to this gentleman i was wondering what you guys would say to this seller.

reminds me of alot of sellers that list their card  as

Voodoo 5 5000
when they actually meant Voodoo 5 5500

it did get them alot of hits though
