Title: 3dfx Jamma interface for sale. Post by gdonovan on 21.03.08 at 17:06:35 Boxed and ready for shipment, $50 plus shipping. This was on Ebay, the buyer turned out to be a non-payer. |

I think what FalconFly is referring to is this:
Quote:
Nobody posted here with a bid. |

Nowhere does it state it was for sale as an auction.

Hmm. maybe my fault, i wanted to ask him about something else when i pm him and since it said 50.00 plus shipping there was no bid to make take it or leave it, it wasnt like someone else could incress the bid once someone agreed to the 50.00. . . so i told him i'd take it. . .Sorry for not making it public.

No need to apologize. It was clearly a sale, not an auction. When I saw "Jamma interface is spoken for (SOLD) " I knew that he had been PM'ed with a sale. Which was obvious because there was not a post.
Regardless... that should be a nice addition to your collection :) |

Still, I demand all sales - be it Instant Buy or Auction - to be made by public postings only - no exceptions.
Even if it is of cosmetic nature in case of Instant Buy, it helps keeping things transparent and certainly avoids unneeded questions... |

Not sure I understand- The item was posted as a sale and I was PM'd by Eric that he wished to purchase the item for the price listed. I promptly noted in the listing that the item was sold. Is there something irregular about the posting? It states in the rules all bids must be made in public, however this was not an auction but a flat "item for sale" posting. Edit- Posting while tired |

Ok very sorry about that Falconfly and Gary, my fault now i know better. :)
P.S. where i went wrong i guess was i was making a pm about more than just the jamma so thats why it was a pm, i shoulda done a pm and a market forum post about the jamma, like i said my bad. |

An instant sale receives a bid just like all other Aucitons, except it's only one and the Auction closes.
Given the way it went, neither you nor the buyer can leave any Marketplace feedback, for example, since there's no proof that this deal was ever conducted. ----------- I think I'll have to re-amend the ROE's to satisfy even lawyers *g* If anything is for sale (no matter in which ways), any offer via PM is and remains prohibited. If you want to 'beat the system', you'll have to makle at least the obligatory posts in the public Thread (even after the actual deal). |

Except it wasn't an auction is my point- There was no bidding nor even a chance to bid. This was a first come, first served "I have something for sale" with a fixed price sale. I think we have a communication error as to what an auction vs a sale is. In the future I'll try to make any listings a bit more clear and require a public notice by the buyer. Happy Easter everyone! |

No sweat, I amended the ROEs to make it more clear what I meant.
