Title: BAD eBay sellers thread!!!
Post by paulpsomiadis on 27.11.09 at 16:43:48
I decided to start this thread after having to deal with an A$$#OLE eBay seller in the U.S.A.... ::)

All I wanted to buy was 5 replacement dualshock analog stick covers...and he INSISTED on charging me individually for the international postage on each of them... >:(

TOTAL POSTAGE = $50 (yes, I'm serious!) :o

Actual parcel cost on arrival $2.50 (rip-off of $47.50) >:(

And he even had the cheek to send payment reminders!!! >:(

I wouldn't have paid, but I need them to fix my controllers - and I can't get them anywhere else... :-/

Here's the R£TARD you need to avoid... ::)

NAME & SHAME SECTION
===================

Seller I.D.: coolwritertwenty

Feedback: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/coolwritertwenty/

Please post your eBay experiences folks with a "Name & Shame section... ;)

Let's vent our fury! :D 8-)

I saw some of their negative feedback....
They don't combine shipping and don't care how much they gouge you doing so.

Well, let me say when we are talking about sharing fury, or bad experiences I do not back away... I am sure having similar troubles in the past, but nothing comes back to mind at the moment :-?...

Beware though that you mind your language and present your case in a clean & factual manner, especially when directly addressing specific EBay Members here in the Forum.

(reason : at least here in Germany, EBay participants - mostly commercial powersellers - have often and successfully filed cases against such "open" forum feedbacks)

I fully understand the frustration when deals go havoc or received good are FUBAR ;) but the reaction unfortunately has to follow the rather tight limits of german jurisdiction (you know, if we Germans are good at one thing - it's inventing restricting regulations and burocracy :D )

You knew how much shipping would be prior to buying the items... it doesnt hurt to ask about combined shipping. (could have saved you a headache)

He isn't to blame IMHO.  He is selling a product, whether the cost of the product, or the cost to ship the product is high, that is in every way their choice.  As a consumer, you can take your business elsewhere.

What exactly were you looking to buy? I guarentee you that "dualshock analog stick covers" can be found somewhere else for much cheaper, and probably even on your side of the fence.

Wow. Small world.  ;)  I actually ordered a OEM psp faceplate from them 2 months ago. It showed up on time. The only problem was that a piece had broke during shipping. Not that big of a deal though. So I ordered another one but it hasnt shown up. :-?  At this point it is late. I sent an email and they said they would "check" on it. My problem is that Thats the only place I have found actual OEM psp faceplates.

If he insists on charging you separately, then you should insist that he sends the stuff individually too, in 5 different packages (even 5 different addresses). Thats what I did when I was in a similar situation. The seller then suddenly changed his mind and allowed combined shipping.

Everything in life is a double edged sword...

Okay, time to set the record straight... :P

I TOTALLY wouldn't have dealt with the guy if I could have gotten the Analog stick covers anywhere else - I've looked and (astonishingly) there's only one other store (also in USA) selling them in LARGE BULK (I would have had to buy a box of 50 or something...no thanks!) :o

@razrx - correct, he's running a postage scam! ::)

@Falcon - I wouldn't comment on the deal if it was someone on the forum, and besides - most of the folks here actually respect the rules and are good people (the spirit of 3Dfx lives in us after all) ;)

@rottentreats - I DID ask about combined shipping, THREE TIMES! He ignored me and sent a "you must pay NOW!" email... Like I said, I only dealt with him because there was no-one else! :-/

@sb306 - you might get a replacement, but don't count on it... :P

@elfuego - I just wanted the DS stick covers without extra hassle... :(

Needless to say that I gave him NO FEEDBACK - he's not worth my time... ::)

But if he pesters me about it, he'll end up with 5 negatives - one for each stick cover! >:(

Nuff said! :)

Paul, you're saying that you actually got one parcel in? Or 5?

A single parcel - see my initial post for the "rip-off" cost versus the actual price of the parcel he sent... ::)

..speaking of bad ebayers, some buyers are quite a handful as well-sold a bunch of memory modules few days ago,and guess what, the buyer (after receiving the item) instantly logs a paypal complaint, with no previous attempt at communication.and to make it even more complicated, the text in the complaint is in french ::).guys,do we have any native french speakers around? I understand that he has problems running the modules, but that's not helping much..

the message:

Bonjour,
j'ai bien reçu les barrettes mémoire. L'anonce decrivait 2x 1G DDR.

my guess is that he was just dumb and bough an incorrect part, despite all my CHECK YOUR COMPATIBILITY warnings..wonder how the paypal resolution centre guys are going to look at this.. >:(

Good ol google translate:

Hello,
I received the memory card. The newest member described 2x 1G DDR. I got 2x 2GB DDR. These strips do not sound compatible with my PC and it makes toast! Upon turning it freeze on the bios and the keyboard does not repond. I demand repayment in full of strips and PC. Christophe cordially

I was looking to get a 2nd Antec NEO HE modular power supply and I found this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330442395316&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The auction didn't mention anything about no International shipping, but I tried to bid and it accepted my bid.  So I ended up winning the item.

The seller's Paypal doesn't accept non-US accounts, so I asked for his Paypal email so I can bank fund my payment.  He never replied or offered any other method to pay.  Then he puts in a non-paying report to ebay.  And now I have a non-paying strike against me.  What an @$$.

I contacted ebay's web support and they suggested I send a report to ebay's Trust and Safety team.

I wonder how does it look like (non paying bidder strike)
cos I just did one report on the winner of my X-16, and it does say that this report will be affix to his account

I looked around, but I didn't see where it shows the non-paying strike.  I'm sure there's lots of things that ebay can see about your account that the account holder can't.
