Title: ati 9700pro and v2s sli
Post by outlaw on 07.05.07 at 12:18:24
OK im really pissed off this time. I built another retro machine in order to get my 2 gainwards 3000 to work. AXP, lots of ram, nforce2, win98 blah blah....and nvidia 5600. Everything was working like a dream. 3dcc dx switching on demand, glide @ 1024.....but 5600's dx 9 was really weak and I wanted some farcry gaming. So I bought a 9700pro and now....I cant make the voodoos to work at all. They are installed properly but every time anything (game, 3d application....on any api) tries to call them I get an annoying error message (_glide2x expected voodoo^2...none found and kindly go f**k yourself). Many many HDD formats and win98 installations, hours of driver, pci slot configurations...and zip....nothing....the voodoos just wont work with the radeon....if it helps, after the annoying messages 2d seams to be corrupted with minimizing-maximizing windows leaves white trails and lots of garbage around and windows freeze in any attempt to restart or shut down. Please help cause this pc's existence is totally meaningless without the voodoos.

@Falcon - it may be useful to STICKY this thread... ;)

@ps47 - nice one mate! People with Radeon cards will appreciate this! 8)

We'll remember it and point people towards it, otherwise we'd have alot of Sticky Threads :)

FW 4.6 was meant for people who had problems running their mismatched SLI,if memory serves.the radeon fix itself is quite old now (year,maybe more),but I remember how happy I was when I had a working solution (after few painful hours of driver mixing,I might add ::)) like it was yesterday ;D

@FalconFly:
as for the old voodoofiles 3dfx helppage,I forgot to mention,I have cleaned it up,fixed all links (the game guide still has a few wrinkles to iron out,mainly because SFFT is releasing drivers too fast and that makes some fixes obsolete),and my 'bro has updated it with a really clean (and fast) code (compliant with everything you can think of).I'm also hosting it on my own site (www.3dfx.sk) now,and the helppage will stay there as long as I have enough money to pay for the hosting (translation: the rest of my life).

as before,feel free to link any part of the helppage anywhere you see fit ;)

I'll update the Link Section and put it into Top Space :)

PS.
I thought VoodooFiles.com was long dead and overrun by spam ?

Last times I checked, it was basically a sunk ship, its few rusted and crushed remains being ripped apart by Spam Piranhas...

well,the com site has been dead for a very,very long time now (as you said,sunken ghost ship haunted by spam&worse),the forum kept going fairly well 'till january 2005,but it went down really fast in mid-january after some additional problems.I have bailed out with the helppage,and I have been maintaining it (or tried to do it,one could say),for the past 2+ years..
