Good luck !

It's been some time since I haven't seen a v5 6000 on ebay, I wonder how high it will go, I expect 3000 USD, maybe even more.

Do you intend to sell other items from your collection or only this card ?

I will list the V 5000 PCI next and then probably the V5 6000 Rev 2600

the others, well its up to the price offer, if I think its too good to resist, I might consider. anyway I have always started out as a box collector.. so, i might forgo if the deal is good :-)

I would keep one 6000, I fear you are going to regret selling them, you are one of the first collectors, going way back to 2001. Why not keep them? If it's about money, there are plenty of other things to sell in your collection.  :)

That is.........I'm lost for words. Might this be the highest priced 6000 so far when auction ends?

I think I saw a bit from Gary there @ $666. Nothing like boosting up the price a bit for good old edmundoab.  ;D

It might not have been Gary though.

nearing 1800 bucks already.

At this rate, I'd be very tempted too sell as well, if I had a 6000 and was in need of money.
If I didn't need the money and I would have one, I would never sell it.

That is definitely not Gary since Gary's nick at ebay is 2000lfd, which is disguised as d***l and he has (at the moment) 1052 points.

At the auction itself: at the moment the bid stands almost exactly at the price I got when I sold my V6k two years ago, I think it may break the 3000$-mark since at the moment prices of 3dfx-card are skyrocketing.

The auction ended on 9/15/08 at 3:27PM CT for 802.99 GBP (~$1,500 at the time) [Item# = 230288632317]

Do remember that it had the internal power soldered on, and the fact that it was "cut short". (no extra pcb on the end)  Either way, the black hole got a good deal on that one.

Ed, for some reason the card doesn't come up anymore when searching from the UK!

http://desc.shop.ebay.co.uk/items/Desktop-PC-Components__3DFX_W0QQLHQ5fLocatedInZ0QQLHQ5fIncludeSIFZ1QQLHQ5fTitleDescZ1QQ_nkwZ3DFXQQQ5ftrkparmsZ72Q253A1300Q257C39Q253A1Q257C66Q253A2Q257C65Q253A12QQ_dmptZUKQ5fComputingQ5fComputerQ5fComponentsQ5fGraphicsQ5fVideoQ5fTVQ5fCardsQ5fTWQQ_mPrRngCbxZ1QQ_mdoZComputingQQ_pcatsZ58058QQ_sacatZ3667QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQ_sopZ10QQ_scZ1

Also, it doesn't come up in the prototype search anymore, nor when I go to ebay.de or ebay.com

I know the ebay system sometimes leaves out whole countries regions, even if under advanced search the correct options are ticked.

I would seriously check this with eBay.

Yeah, this is what happened to me also, with my V4 4500 PCI. Auction was not listed in ebay.de, although was for worldwide.

You know, sometimes, ebay system is slow. Probably Ed will need one or two days of adjustment, first auction will be listed in each countries

Okay, its finally down to the final 12 hours

up till now the stats are as such:

I have 1456 views | 79 watchers @ the price of USD $1,666.00 courtesy of Mr. Thandor's generous bid

No where close to the initial 10 day auction which picked up over 3000 views (with Obi's advertising help) and a whooping 126 watchers @ price of USD 1,775.00
Before it prematurely ended
I would have loved the old advertisement to stay...  :'(

Will be sleeping in bed for most of the final sessions of this auction due to time difference.  :P

3 minutes left and it's at $1691.  This should get interesting!!!

Edit: Someone sniper bid on it with 5 seconds left and snatched it from the previous high bidder.  Whoever it was must have been in it for the adrenaline rush. It is insane to sniper bid like that on a collectors item like a V5 6000...you have one chance to make it with only 5 seconds to spare.
