In two weeks there will be a HUGE casemodding contest in Ukraine held by Intel & Samsung, with prizes over $3000 cost. I took part in this last year and got place #3... So gonna aim for the wictory this time.

That year I presented a acrylic case for Vapochill XE and so i'm not gonna do any mod without phase-change cooling

So, idea is following:

nVENTIV Mach II GT in Lian-Li enclosure (that used to be the best PC cooling ever but company goes bankrupt this June after three successful years in business. I was lucky enough to get early pre-production sample of Mach II GT in five months before public release - actually it's also a collector's item, only few prototypes were build:)) + Lian-Li PC-70 full-tower case

The theme of mod is taken from V5 6000 box - I have really good airbrush artist here and he'll do a big picture of that face from the box + whole case will receive a airbrush painting in H.R. Giger style.
Other side will get a laser-cutted window with big aluminum 3dfx logo in the center.
Top panel will be laser-cut to fit Koolance EXOS watercooling + one more 120 mm fan.
Custom laser-cut aluminum or acrylic fan grills with 3dfx logo.
+ of course some minor stuff like pulse neon lighting, modded PSU (Antec TrueControl 550W in aluminum enclosure from 300W Raidmax unit), etc...

But actually i'm out of ideas which could emphasize 3dfx-style even more Sad

Plus looks like total amount of mods still isn't so impressive.

So I would like to ask you as the dedicated 3dfx fans: what else could be done with case? I have almost unlimited budget and access to many industrial equipment, but not enough time actually

So, boys and girls, ANY IDEAS? U re welcome to post anything:)

Other thing - i can't imagine a good name for the project...

Man than you are a real good case-modder. Well, If I would have the stuf and the money I would make something powerfull too. But I won't take a normal case as a base, I would build my own case, because for real good cooling normal cases are not good enough.
But anyway, does it matter how far you can overclock your cpu in this contest?? And how far can you overclock with that phase-change cooler?

Actually I dropped the idea to participate. First of all, hardware magazine i work for is one of sponsors, so it won't be fair. Second (which is more important) that damned crowds in center of Kiev (I hope you watch TV to know what happens in Ukraine:)) almost paralyzed any business in city and I don't have enough time to finish the project in time...
So I just take a break and not gonna hurry now... Case will be finished in a few weeks

No, that doesn't matter. My current rig is in signature, it is FX-55 @ 3350 MHz rock stable... Previous CPU was P4EE ES 3.2GHz (Socket 478 ) which was able to work on 4300 MHz (14x308 ) - now it's in my barebone PC. I was gonna use my P4EE 3.46GHz for the project to participate in contest (due to strict rule of using Intel-branded CPUs only), it does at least 4 GHz on air but as I don't need this now I'll stick with current FX-55... Can't wait for NForce 4 mobo 'cos my X850XT-PE is already here (work in IT-press has its advantages, heh;)) but I can't run it on AMD platform yet, Intel only...

well everyone has thier own ideas, ans so do I, I just Paint my cases with the one of best Model Paint's there is :

"Sveta"

This painting shows the Descent Freespace2 ships, from top to bottom:

Shivan Carrier "The Shavanah"

This box gave me the idea:

I just looked at it for about half 'n' hour, until I created a picture in my mind of how I'm gonna paint it and then I went for it. Everything has been hand painted with only one brush.

The whole case took me about 5 hours.

Oh the Monitor is an EIZO T662-T 21" for MAC, but it works fine for PC too

on my Voodoo5 5500 AGP ofcourse Wink

well this something to do with 3dfx because Descent2 and Descent Freespace2 could be run in 3dfx Glide, and they look really great on a Voodoo4 & 5 based card especially with FSAA enabled at max settings and resolution. Grin

I saw your case before in your gallery ar 3dfx.ch and noticed a stange name for the project - "Sveta". Why did you use this word? Actually, it's a shorten form of russian woman name Svetlana. But maybe you had other reasons and now I found the right place to ask you about it Wink

indeed Sveta is the shortened name for Svetlana Wink

She's a great trance/dancer singer, got many songs of Sveta

And yes Sveta was the name of choice, she's a beautifull girl and indeed this PC has it's own beauty too, in my vision ofcourse Wink

I've done more PC's that I own in my painting style, if you want to see them , may I post them here too?.

Need to make some new photo's first ' Wink

On my V5 the textures got all messed up when I used the tab "map key" and went back to the game. I had a lot of custom maps (levels). I'll never forget playing that on my firsts voodoo card Monster Voodoo 4 meg. Both cases look great!! I'm currently running a Koolance myself.
