I just want to be able to afford a car ;D

As to the FBW thing; I don't think there's any commercially available car which uses this, only concept cars.

unless those  Flying Cars from Israel, they do have Joysticks, maybe joysticks will be placed in cars many years from now, anyways the idea is something alot different, or some toutch pad idea hehe who knows.

I know there was a prototype (I "think" Germany, but not sure,  was like some 10 years ago).

The Problem was that the sidestick used worked quite well, but practically its use was screwing Test Drivers big time (hard to get used to). After all... they're Drivers, not pilots ;)

IMHO, Project got scratched for severe usability and the related safety issues.

Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

::)

I know the fuel-cell prototype from Mercedes (or another German manufacturer) uses FBW but has a 'normal' steeringwheel.

yeah i want a joystick with force feedback extreme.. when you're driving through a big impact hole (Schlagloch  ::) ) the force feedback will get so strong that you cannot hold the joystick anymore

;D
