Where's the Mercury?

It's has like 2 big ol 80mm fans with chrome grills top side.

Now that's impressive Grin

The two big overhead fans on Mercury? Pretty sure they are a pair of 12v huffers.

Well Canopus did make some of the best cards and with the fan you might be able to overclock them a bit higher since they have good ram too (83 mhz in some cases). I have had one Canopus Pure3D up to 66 mhz, another has touched 70 mhz.

You also have to remember to a degree this was uncharted area back in 1996-1997! Most video chipsets didn't get very hot till Voodoo Graphics was released, if you read old reviews a lot of reviewers noted the high temps which are considered pretty normal now.

Those early voodoo cards sure were hot, weather wise and other wise Roll Eyes

If I ever get my hands on another 100SB cooling will be a challenge (w/shades).

Maybe something a little more toned down from the 3 60mm server fans I have on my Mercury. Man, does that baby sing 8)
