Title: voodoo3 drivers
Post by Doc on 27.11.05 at 13:02:46
I have a 3dfx voodoo3 driver ver. 5.00.3545.0028 16 bit in my system now. I'm having some problems with the game I'm trying to play. It locks up at different points during the game. I have to exit the game to get it to unlock. Is there a newer ver. driver out there? Maybe someone has an idea on how to fix it.  :-/

Not knowing your Operating System, the troubled Game or the Driver Pack installed, difficult to answer.

This Driver Version you state ( v5.00.3545.0028 ) comes close and is actually more current than the latest Win2k V1.04.00 Reference Driver (which contains Display Driver and Miniport v5.00.2195.0232)

I can only assume you have WinXP and use the default Display Driver, which is severely limited in functionality.
If so, you may have a look at the 3rd Party WinXP Voodoo3 Drivers.

Thanks for replying so soon. Yes I have a WinXP. The driver I show is 3dfxvs.dll, I think that is right. I have a AMD Anthlon XP 1600+ 1.40 GHz 256 mb prossor. I'm not that good with computers. The game I'm having a problem with is Syberia 2 an adventure game. It does good till I get to a part of the game where there is water running then it just locks up when it goes to the next screen. Hope this will help. I also have some Command & Conquer games that I can't even get to load. Thanks again. ???

I think SFFT driver for voodoo3 is the most suitable driver for your needs.download, extract it to some folder (using winrar for example),go to the device manager, find the voodoo3,open it,click update driver, choose to install the driver from specific location (do not search for it automaticaly),point it to the folder where you have extracted the driver and let it install.click continue anyway if you have WHQL messages during the install.reboot, and you should be ready to go..
