NIce, did you rinse with de-ionised water and how long did it take to dry out properly (in oven)

Squeaky clean  Cool

I recently got an Abit VP6 motherboard and it is also very dirty.  I am interested in this washing process...  Can you please give some directions so I can attempt to clean this baby up properly? (hot soapy water and a brush, then rinsed with distilled water I would assume.  How long and at what temperature in the oven?)

(I already cleaned up the boxed area with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol)

I used warm water with PUR dishwashing balsam and a mild rectangular painting brush (similar to these: http://img20.allegroimg.pl/photos/oryginal/963/19/55/963195533). After cleaning with regular water using shower, I simply spilled on it from top about 2.5 L of deionized water used for ironing, then pre-dryed with towel and then 10 mins with hair dryer. And then it was laying loose for about 7 days, so I assumed it is ready for action Wink

But, the only issue is that when I switch it off during POST or completly cut-off PSU, it looses it's JumerFree cpu settings - in other words, it thinks, that there's a new cpu put in and asks me for proper settings. Can you help with thisi? I didn't test this mobo before cleaning, so I can't tell if this is my fault Wink

Is the battery ok ? Water can linger under chips for a long time, most of the stuff on youtube they blow dry with a heatgun or sit it in the oven.Maybe you could dry it off in your new v6k cabinet rottentreats.
There was a shop locally that used to "wash" motherboards and sell them as new until they got sent to jail.

Funnily enough, I usually get things from the right people, or new people that I 'meet', like you said. But this one just popped up on eBay! Nobody really bid on it, so I got this one at a ridiculously low price.

He said he got it from his friend, I've asked the details about it, he still needs to get back to me.

It seems like a bring up board. Board doesn't have any outputs, so they must have been talking to it directly. Very interesting heatsink-ish device on the top.

Maybe it was the first batch of A2 chips that came back from TMSC.

We will see soon, shouldn't take too long in the post.

(I'm actually still running my 8800 GTX at the moment, so it will be nice to have them side by side)

Things that are on the way as well :

This lot is from a well known ex reviewer, he saw my site, and he told me he had been waiting for something like this to come along so he could donate his collection.

ps. This is only part 1.

Have fun deciphering which cards they are. I think I can name about 80% of them, the rest I'm not too sure about. Plenty of Engineering/Review/Pre-production/Reference samples in there, together with a few really, really rare ones, like the S3 Deltachrome boards as seen here :
