Post by craig on 27.02.03 at 14:53:44
Has anyone had any joy running Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on a VooDoo 3 3500 TV ???

I really wanna play it but I'm not gonna buy a new card to play one game ??

Damn Bethesda, the 'no 3dfx support'gits.

Thanks

C.

Does the game "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" use only 32 bits in D3D and is that why i can't play it on my 3500?

Concerning The Lord of the Rings game:
My problem is in the riot engine config box i can't select a resolution. Why is this and is there any way around it?

If you cannot select a Resolution, this usually means that the Config Tool requires a form of DirectX8 compilance the installed Driver does not meet.

Use 3D Analyzer to enable DirectX8 Driver compatibility masking (described in the old Readme I once wrote for it).

That 'should' help you get past the Config Tool, but expect other (Engine related) errors after that...

Nope still didn't work.
Does anyone know of any directx 8.1 compliant drivers for the 3500 under xp? Besides the Hujer HOE's and xpentor's.
BTW i'm currently using the amigamerlin 2.5se drivers

Just out of curiosity and frustration is there any program that allows a video card to share memory with the main system memory, much like the intergrated chips on motherboards today?  The reason I ask this is because such a program would be a great boon on those of us who don't necessarily have the money to buy a new part when the old becomes obsolete.  Does anyone think that it might be possible to write such a program?  Or would the bios of the motherboard be the stumbling block?
Thanks for all the great help!

Having shared memory over a PCI, or even AGP slot would be INSANELY slow. It's not even worth trying.
