Thanks for the good advice.
Ok, here's the complete specs as all the parts are in.
Tyan Tiger MPX 2466 (BIOS v4.06 ? I think the last user flashed this board with the wrong BIOS..... he used the 2466N-4M bios)
2x Athlon MP 2600+ w Spire heatsink & fans
*RAM
3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP
3ware Escalade 9500S-8 RAID PCI 64bit
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard
Intel PRO 1000 MT Desktop adapter
4x Western Digital 37GB Raptors (111GB in RAID 5)
LG DVD+- DL Burner
Antec 550W Trio modular PSU
*the ram was a bit of an issue. I tried individiually, all four of my Corsair XMS 1GB Platinum CL2 DDR ram, but no POST. So I tested all the hardware that came with the motherboard and came to the conclusion the mobo is defective. Until 20 mins ago when I put in some registered ram that came with the bundle. Voila! It's working!!!!!
NOTE: The Corsair XMS sticks are working fine in my EPoX 8k5a3+ board.
So now I'm wondering why I get no POST with unregistered ram. As per the manual, I should be able to use unregistered ram upto 1GB in either slot 1 and/or slot 2 only. I tried slot 2 and no luck there either.... I hope you and some other Tyan MPX owners can provide me some insight why I can't POST.
Also, now I've discovered a new issue. I was able to get into the BIOS once or twice, but I changed the setting to the PS/2 mouse setting (which also means PS/2 keyboard to Auto) + USB Legacy Enabled, however since rebooting, I am not able to get into my BIOS.
USB is not recognized through KVM or straight connect. My PS/2 keyboard does allow me to press F2 - Setup or Space - skips quick memory test
However, if I press F2 to get to the Bios Setup, the message at the bottom left corner stating Entering Setup..... appears, but I never end up going to the BIOS. the POST finishes and then goes to my 3ware card to initialize. I tried a reboot without the 3ware card, but when the mobo post finishes it just sits there waiting for a bootable drive.
I've tried changing the CMOS jumper to 2-3 then back to 1-2. I've pulled the battery for >10 seconds. Still no change. How else can I get into the BIOS?
Update: I bought a new bios chip off ebay for less than 20 Canadian shipped..
