Title: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 14.08.04 at 15:30:28
Since it seemed a good idea to have a list of all Voodoo's I decided to start making one :)

Currently I only have the Voodoo Graphics and Rush cards listed that I know off. I'd like some feedback from everyone.

If you know of a card that's not listed, let me know.
If you see something wrong in the list, let me know.

Here's the list in xls format (MS Excel 2000)
Right click -> save as:
http://members.home.nl/markhuizing/voodoos.xls

Yes, I've got tabs for the V2 and Banshee but for now I'm concentrating on the Graphics and Rush.

Update, included the V2 1000.
You might notice double entries. These are cards with different PCB revisions (I think different layouts).

Please let me know of any errors/misstakes, etc.

downloaded that file - great job! ;)

maybe add frequency columns (core&memory)?

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 16.08.04 at 15:44:22
Yeah, need to add a lot more ;D
I just want to get all cards listed first, details come second.

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's

And another update. This one inlcudes the Banshee.
(Link is offcourse in the first post)

Again:
Please let me know of any mistakes I made.
Also let me know about cards I missed and missing info. (PCI/AGP and Memory at this moment)

Post by NitroX infinity on 17.10.04 at 15:02:15
I've updated the file again.
I've added a manufacturer tab at the beginning.

A few points:

1. If you know of another manufacturer please let me know.

2. My knowledge about the MAC cards is just terrible, I only know something about the V4/5 MAC cards. So if someone has extensive knowledge about the MAC cards please tell me. I'm especially looking for info on the V3 MAC cards.

Anyway, here's the file:

Ladies and gentlemen;

The list has been updated again.
Some minor revisions plus, I added the Voodoo 3 series.

Again, any comment's are welcome!

Yeah ;)....I had the same good idea at forumzone.it, but nobody seemed interested in it :(

"Meeting" of American and European knowledge about 3dfx items, will be result a very complete list, IMHO :D

Oky! I will take a look at .xls file ;)

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's

The Miro Hiscore3D (Voodoo Graphics) had TV-Out and VGA.

Which cards i miss:
- Colormaster Voodoomania Banshee, 16 MB, AGP
- Quantum3D Raven PCI-Version
- Quantum3D Aarkvard (Banshee, PCI, 2x VGA)
- Villagetronic MP750 (Banshee PCI, 8 MB)

In other respects it's a really nice list. :)

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 29.01.05 at 16:21:45
Okay, updated the list with those cards, thanks.

Still need loads of info on all cards, mostly it's the speed at which they work and the amount and type of ram.

Also, the Q3D cards are not all present. I would like a list of all the Q3D cards not in the list, and perhaps some of their specs.

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 13.03.05 at 17:36:43
And another update; The Voodoo 4 cards.

Have fun!

hmm it's a .xls file , I can't open it, I suppose it would of been better if it was done in a .txt file so that others can read it also. I don't know why i can't open it.

i'm able to open it with excel...using version 2003 SP1

Anyway, I'm assuming Obi Wan did something wrong on his end :P

Hm, I do own OpenOffice V1.1.4, but indeed not everyone owns those pricey MS Office suites.

Such lists would be better offered in a non-proprietary .txt or .rtf Format, so everyone can read it without a 1000$ piece of Software.

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 13.03.05 at 21:25:55
Uhm, 1000 bucks, uhm, okay.... ;D

But if I'd place it in a txt or rtf format, the file would become long and unclear.

Off course, putting it all in a SQL database on the internet would be nicer :)

Post by OutOfRange on 13.03.05 at 22:18:53
hey nitrox

we're going for a new gallerie on 3dfx.ch which includes all 3dfx cards (coding in progress) is it possible to combine this gallerie with your list ? so we can build a php based database which includes all these cards and it's even up to date for everyone :)

Title: Re: Listing all Voodoo's
Post by NitroX infinity on 13.03.05 at 22:27:20
You can use the list to start it off if you want.
I'd add some more fields to the database though, like revision numbers, production dates, memory brands, etc.
(A comment field might be a good thing too, so whoever alters it can add a comment if neccessary)

Company names should be selected through a drop down menu so you don't end up with ten's of variations of a company name :D

That way you can get a more complete oversight :)

Though I'd only give a few trustworthy people rights to edit it, otherwise some jokester might ruin it all.

oukey i'm goin to look with our coder to build up a database for this :) thanks alot

A small update to the list.
Obi Wan finally explained the difference between Skywell's regular and plus versions, so that's fixed. Most of the other updates can be found in the V2 section and the rest in the VG section.

Sorry, no V5 section yet.

This page has some additional information on the Creative Labs cards:

http://us.creative.com/support/identifyproduct/

For example, this page lists Model CT6630 and Model 6751 which are not listed specifically in the spreadsheet.

Be carefull with what you want to put in your list.

Quote:
- Rev.A2 2600 with 6ns ram

It would be unlogical that this exits but it could be possible offcourse. I would search for one first.

I do know about an A2 with 5.5 ns memory though.

Quote:
- Rev.A3 3500

This is a mistake by Sirta: It must be 3400 like all the others ;)

Quote:
- Rev.A 3600

I read about a guy who got 2 v5 6000's for Christmas and he stated one was dated 3600. I would leave it out if I was you but Im not implying that it does not exist either...ive seen stranger things :P (he also claimed the other was 3000 dated)

Oh well I wrote only the date number known to my nollage.

the Rev.A 3600 was real I saw it at the Voodoo5 6000 Resource group once, but it could of been mistaken with a Rev.A 3700 ofcourse, but sorry about the Rev.A3 3500 never knew that.

Pixelview itself is a brand of a company named Prolink, not ProVideo. ProVideo is an independent company (Provideo Multimedia Co. Ltd.).
I think Prolink bought cards from ProVideo and put a sticker on it.

I'd like to note that currently the list is not being updated. It's development was halted in favour of this topic. Which I believe, is more usefull since it has images. The list will be updated again in the future and I'll probably also convert it to another format (HTML or so). My apologies if this causes any problems.
