Reply #1 - 03.01.06 at 12:08:00 If you want to continue using AmigaMerlin V3.1-R11, just put 3dfxvs.dll and 3dfxvsm.sys of SFFT in the AmigaMerlin package and replace existing ones, reinstalls drivers and good testing...

hmm I must say that SFFT Alpha 33 rocks in 2000 and especially XP Pro, finally the XP drivers are getting fixed hehe

I tested Jedi Knight Jedi Academy with the latest Dark Forces mod @ 1024 x 768 x32 @ normal detail only shadows off

my 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 PCI 64MB Rev.A1 2900 did a nice 43 fps avr on the Dual Opteron DP 244 system

yeah now I must seek an AGP2PCI and we could do some realy fun stuff hehe hmm that 6K could come in handy hehe I knew it would someday

Nah but the idea is a possibillity, first I'll upgrade the CPU's to 2x OpteronDP 250

2x 2.4Ghz 2x 1MB L2

the 244's run @ 1.8Ghz a piece hehe so a nice 600Mhz per CPU extra ain't so bad

well XP is the worst OS for 3dfx card My advice is still make use of Win98SE or Win2K Pro for the best performance for 98SE use the latest Raziel64 Evolution driver or AmigaMerlin 2.9 always has been my big favour.

For Win2K pro AmigaMerlin 3.1 R11 with Sage 1.9 otherwise SFFT Alpha33 with Voodoo Control, V.Control replaces your 3dfx tools very handy.

but if you really want XP to be your Voodoo OS [Bad Choice lol] use SFFT Alpha 33 with V.Control, I have tested the aplpha 33 drivers in XP as 2000, and 2000 was alot faster hehe do remember that XP didn't exsist when 3dfx was allive, and there were never drivers made for that OS, which still remains as the major problem with XP, to me old cards and new OS'es don't mix.

I have sfft alfa33 driver(with 3dfxtools 2.6.1.110) and P4 voodoo5 5500 AGP winXP directx9.I had test some drivers(amigamerlin3.1r11 3.0 and 2.5SE) but there was bugs both in on OS and 3d games too(WarcraftIII)and displayed ERREUR message.Now I test sfft alfa33,in this moment there are not bug with winXP OS since 2 days

,I don't test it with WArcraftIII but I hope that it won't crashing.at next for test results Wink

I use sfft Alfa 33(and 3dfxtools) with voodoo5 5500 agp winXP. I am at third day of test and there are not erreurs messages appears when I work in win OS system or with 3d games (WarcraftIII) and I found a new option:its possible now to play with 32bit Cheesy

good, exept some slowing when there are too many effects in the game (that can be that because I have only 256mb of SDRAM ???) but I can say that I have play more than 2 hours without bug and is too much beter than hold driver versions. Grin
