In 10 years since 3dfx went down no collector has ever come across an ISA 3dfx card. I myself have never even heard of it and I did a lot of browsing around to get info on 3dfx cards.

Ask for the person's age. Good chance it's a youngster confusing PCI for ISA or remembering wrong.

It could be that the person has a 3dfx/Q3D GCI card with JAMMA interface that does resemble an ISA connector and if he doesn't know the difference could make this confusion.
It's just a thought...

I doubt that an ISA slot could handle the bandwith requirements for a voodoo graphics board, heck some sound cards on the ISA bus will stutter and carry on due to limitations of the interface.

There was a fake picture floating around the net years ago with a voodoo chip mounted on an ISA card, wasn't even a good fake...

Yes, very good observation, that's what I think too.

Might have been a game control interface card which doesn't have any actually contacts. Just sits in the location.

You also have to pay attention that early hard drives often were bundled with unique controller boards. Had one of these within my first harddive (21 MB  :D ). Quantum (not 3D) made some of these, even if it's just the label. Had an ISA one of these, years ago when I was yound and pretty (today only the "and" last  ;D )

It was clearly say on the board Quantum3D with the triangle. And the board was thick. I should buy it.

it could be a different card from Quantum3d, without 3dfx chipsets.
If it"s not expensive, buy it.
;)
