drivers WinNT 4.0 3DNow! (from Russia, sorry to my English)
As i know 3dfx support 3DNow! in drivers, please say me version of these drivers (Voodoo3-2000 WinNT 4.0)

My sys:
proc - k6-2 375Mhz
mem - 176 Mb Ram
video - V3-1000 (drivers 1.07 -Win98, 1.04 - WinNt -from 3dfx + WickGl)
sound - Yamaha 724
os - WinNT 4.0 & Win98

How can i make gamespeed faster, i say about drivers that support 3DNow!, OpenGL lib (specific for my sys) and so on...

WinNT
Quake2 - 50 fps (with sound)//win98 - 25fps
Half-Life (+CS) - fps!!!
UnrealTurnament - 40 fps //(win98 - 33fps)
Quake3
and so on for OpenGL/Glide games

but for Win98
NFS3 & NFS4 - DirectX
Driver
Worms
and other DirectX games

This is very odd...

I've never heard of WinNT yielding better Gaming performance than Win98, which is widely regarded as the No.1 Gaming platform (except for the latest Games and/or Hardware)

Whatever happened there, it seems your Win98 Installation was faulty, I couldn't explain it otherwise...

at first
WinNT directX v 5.0 (only hacker`s version) (v3.0 - original)
nfs3/4/5 - DirectX 6.0 (6.1) (DirectSound !!!)

Win 98 installed very good, but Win98 system used as workplase (internet/office) and DirectX games.

in WinNT disabled (or unsupported) many things (DirectSound one fo them) => more system resoures is free.

(for example:
1.Serious Sam look good in WinNT only with my K6-375 Mhz proc
2.ConterStrike1.5 - in win98 swapfile >=200 mbyte in WinNT <100 +faster).

if you are intrested, jast try to install this OS (but it no so easy as win98)

Hm, I got 2 WinNT Installations, but these run DEC Alpha21164 64bit'ers, so not much Gaming there ;)

Did you try to play NFS(x) in Glide ?


in glide i play, i use a Voodoo3 -1000, but directX used for directsound, not for Direct3D => WinNT unsupported directSound above 3.0a (or 5.0 in hack version - but NFS not run)
hfs3/4/5 look so good in glide...(in Win98)
