Quake3ademo.exe

Not motion blur, use the in game browser and look for server gdonovan. Demo can be downloaded from a number of places including 3dgamers.com and idsoftware.

Look for server "GDONOVAN" and make sure you disable game filtering when using the server browser.

Zero players on the server is filtered out by default.

and for the version, download demo 1.11 ;)

UT or Quake3 are not freeware or abandonware, Quake3 & Unreal is still on sale in a number of retail places.

The idea is to get as many playing as possible, not everyone has access to Ebay or the inclination to purchase the game.

Anyone can download the demo for free.

There is only one version of the demo, 1.11.

This is NOT the motionblur version that was leaked out.

I'll try to figure out a good time for the next setup, I'll have to look up some server commands...

Shame it's not possible to "cross-play" between the DEMO and RETAIL by simply loading the same maps... :P

weird... i can't find any server anymore after playing  couple game  :o

open the q3 cfg file and do a search for "fps"

You will find two entrys with "fps" the one your looking for has a value of "0" change it to "1" and save.

I think it states something like "display_fps=0" but as I'm at work I can recall.

I'll fire up the server again in about an hour-

look for server "3dfx-gdonovan"

ok I found that fps it was set_drawfps "0" or something...

damn... again master server is crashed  :P

Looks like the master server is down, I'll keep trying for a bit while I tinker with the server.cfg file.

I think I have it setup right for an 8 player game with 15 minute roation and 20 frags before roating to 4 different maps, perhaps I can get a few bots going to.

Well that IP you gave looks like a network IP of one of your systems , can't find it with the Specify function  :(

Hey Gary what settings did you use on the 6K?

The V6K was running in dedicated server mode, not much to see =)

I'm going to fool with some other settings to see what else I can change to make it more fun, gravity cut to 50% might be interesting.

For some reason I can see the game on the Q3 master list, very odd.

yeah very odd indeed heh oh well 50% gravity hmm would have a Descent 1/2/3 taste to it then hmm for a few maps it would be a nice idea, but not for all, running & doging rockets is more fun, try and mix the settings a little :)one map with no gravity hah , one with 50% gravity 2 with 100% gravity orsay normal mode

start the game and bring down the console (press ~, the key to the left of number 1) at any time.

type in:

bind "f12" screenshot

press enter and then exit the console.

Now everytime you press F12, you get a large TGA file in the Quake3 directory.

heh these shots were done on the X800 XT PE AGP 256MB @ 1024 x 768 x32 FSAA x6T3 [ comparable to FSAA x18] & AF x16 HQ under Win2K Pro + SP4 & Rollup1 for SP4 with Omega Catalyst 6.03
