Enough power supply for my v5?
06.07.04 at 03:41:53
Mi question is
Do i have enough power supply for all my shit that is in my comp + one voodoo5 5500?
the issues...
I have 3 hard disks, + one optical drive (4 IDE devices)
Actually i use a "splitter" to supply power for 2 of my hard disks, and i will need to use another splitter for my voodoo5.
Is there enough power for all this?
Is safe to use 2 "splitters" in a system?
if so..
what position is the optimal, refering to cables and position of the splitters of power around the hard disks and the voodoo5 etc..? it doesnt matter?
From my power supply come out 3 main power cables, in one of them i have currently a splitter to connect power to 2 of my hard disks. Should i avoid use the new splitter when i got my vooodoo5 for it to receive power directly from one of these main cables? it doesnt matter?
I dunno if i explain it well, with "splitter" i mean one of those cables that act as bifurcators for one power supply hard disk connector etc..
If some1 can solve any of my doubts i will be pleased reading it!
Sergi

How many watt's is the power supply your using ???
A wise choice would be a minimum 300 - 350 watt name brand (high quality) model.

I'm running my PC with an old ATX power supply (230 watts, noname) :
elite K7S5A
XP2400+
384MB PC 133
V5 5500
two IDE HDD
two CD drives
sound blaster Live 5.1
This power supply is replacing a crap one-year-old 330 watts one that made my PC instable

don't care about splitters, it's what your PSU can do that is important. The voodoo5 came with a splitter and I'm using it
