Title: Voodoo Banshee & DirectX® 9.0c Post by Raymond on 12.12.04 at 07:33:23
Hi,
I've just borrowed a copy of Pirates! from a friend and I wanted to try it out on my PC. I rarely play any games on my PC so when I bought a new PC this yr, I just used my old 16MB Voodoo Banshee card. The pirates! read me file says that the min system requirements for video is (my PC passes all the other sys. requirements): DirectX® 9.0c-compatible 64 MB video card with Hardware T&L support. When I try to load the game I get this message "Unable to initialize DirectX". I know my video card is really old, but is there any way possible of running this game using my banshee? Thanks, Raymond |

If 64MB Video RAM is minimum, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do.
Along with that, Large Texture Size and advanced 3D Feature support is normally also required, none of which the Banshee supports. Some of the limitations can be overcome with 3D Analyzer, but not all of them, so I don't think it is possible in this case. |
