Hi Every one, I wanted to ask something, and it's about this Bonesteel card.
What I know is that it's a 3dfx Voodoo3 1000 with 8MB SGRAM core/mem 143Mhz and both TMU's enabled, and that it's a Gateway Voodoo3 1000 card. I've been confused with a few people that Bonesteel was the codename for the Velocity seres, and that the Velocity series didn't use the Avenger code name, but this is too hard for me too believe. Anyone an idea about this, maybe you would know the truth. I just want to know the facts not the maybe's ;) . Friendly Regards, Obi-Wan Kenobi. |

The only thing 'Bonesteel' is, is a name for the Gateway V3. nothing more.

yeah Iwas thinking the same just got confused with other things. and that's a Vooodoo3 1000 with 8MB SGRAM with 2TMU's like any other Voodoo3 right?

The Gateway Bonesteel V3-1000 is the same as Velocity 100 with 143 mhz clock and 1 TMU.
Everything is the same except for bios identifier on boot up. |

thanx Gary, :) I wonder why Gateway would change the original Velocity 100 name for that thing? just for a better marketing aim?

the bonesteel has both TMUs enabled out of the box,if memory serves..

hmmokay, didn't know that, so actually a mix of a Vel100 and a V3 1K with 8MB SGRAM then?

Nope, just one which can be re-enabled with a windows registy hack. Do a board search, I did benchmarks showing the performance difference between Velocity 100, the Compaq V3-1000 and a regular V3 (I think) |

Is this the card with the lower clock speed? Like 125MHz or something.

The Compaq Voodoo3 1000 AGP 16MB card is the only one which has core/mem 125Mhz , If i can remember.
