absolutely no problems... the holes for the heatsinks of the voodoo 3 matches the holes of the voodoo 5 exactly... i didnt modify anything on the heatsinks...
overclocking? i do not think that i will get more mhz just with better coolers... if i make a volt mod on it, sure it will help... but then i will put a big fan in front of the voodoo 5...

Great
This is what 3dfx had to do back then. No clumsy glue attached heatsinks but thermalpaste and a heatsink using the "clamping pins".
Are the V3 heatsinks able to handle the heat of the dual VSA-100 chips ? (I think they do but you'll never know
)

the fan on the V 3 3000 is good
helps keep the temps down,
through my experience, the heatsink on my v3 2000, wasn't enough to survive long hours of gaming in a closed case, with Malaysian weather.

well the idea is qute ideal if you want a quiet system with a powerfull Voodoo5 5500.
I suppose cooling a 6K like this would be impossible, I'm just speculating this.

The question that bugs me is how you got the old epoxy off the V5 cores. When I popped my heatsinks off for my Voodoo 5500 P3 cooler mod there was old epoxy on the core and I couldn't get it all off.

I use 100% acetone and a bit of elbow grease of course and I have always been able to get every trace of epoxy off 8)

hmm, i must be lucky at least 95% of glue stay on the heatsink when i remove them, not sure if its the technique of getting them off(never tried the screew drive) or the amount of time in the freezer, whatever i have left i razor blade off.
